Hi, you guys! Welcome to my website!
For people interested in cultural trivia, my use of the phrase “you guys” for both men and women identifies me as a probable U.S. baby boomer from a northern Midwest state. True!
I am a life-long Michigander. My current husband and I (we were both widowed) share five grandchildren from two married daughters (one his, one mine).
I am also a licensed psychologist with experience spanning from infancy to death. After spending more than 15 years working in the public sector, I decided to open an independent practice in 1997. It’s been almost 20 years, and I’ve never looked back! My professional passion has been to help people figure out what to do with their lives at any given time and in any kind of circumstance.
I have a PhD in developmental psychology, which reflects my long-standing interest in how people grow and change throughout the life span. My new curiosity about the later-in-life aging process has prompted me to create this website.
Groovy Gray-Hairs is a site for boomers and seniors like me with engaged minds and aging bodies who use various devices to stay as active and independent as we can, while we can. I decided to focus on assistive technology because I use a few devices, and couldn’t find another site that offers the kind of information that I’ve sought.
This website will provide health information, reviews, and blogs on adaptive devices that keep our minds alert and our bodies moving. You’ll have access to experts, enthusiasts, and users of assistive equipment. If you have some expertise, then I hope that you’ll add comments or contribute a guest blog of your own!
If you want to know something about an adaptive item or product, just ask, and I’ll check it out for you.
I won’t be selling anything directly, but I’ll tell you how to find it online.
Mostly, I hope that you and your friends will stop by often to say hello and see what’s new.
Happy to make your acquaintance!
